Ego, the word tells about someone’s behavior, it makes us feel loneliness. The reason for our loneliness is nothing but our ego towards circumstances.
The behavior of many people is dependent on the environment and how we maintain our life with respect to various conditions.
It is a thing which will make us not to initiate at times for instance, teacher will generally ask student initially to submit his/her notebook for correction, but if a student didn’t listen showing off his personality then it will be the teacher’s ego which will drive him to correct the notebook later or not. This is a positive ego, and everyone should have since there are bad elements which will exploit us.
The same things happen in the office, If at all I have to get signature from director then I need to get signature of his subordinate, then only he will sign. So here also ego comes into picture but the circumstances are different.
Since the director won’t have time to look after all this matter so concerning department has the responsibility. The ego doesn't come into this directly it is in the way the director behaves with the situation, he may start scolding and asked him why he came to him for such stuff if at all he has ego else, he will speak softly and inform him the procedure that first it has to be through sub-ordinate then to him because of system.
It’s a difficult thing to understand, initiation should be there from each one of us in order to make our life meaningful optimistic. But this ego, makes our life crazy.
You might have come across an instance wherein you would have seen a breakup between a couple only because both of them have an ego to resolve the issue or apologize for any mistakes. So this ego factor leads to a very descent and filmy breakup.
Why such an ego occurs? Probably its our human tendency to have an attitude which at times overloads our normal human character.
I mean to say that in the rating of 10 if we have an ideal attitude which one should have is 5, then if there is an ego then this can cross 8. So, attitude is something which each one of us should have but it should neither be less nor be more. If at all it is more then it may not be so dangerous in the short run but can make us feel lone in the long run.
Imagine, if the word ego doesn’t exist, it would have been much easier to make thing happen smooth and faster.
A newly fresh employee who being a youth enthusiastic, if wanted to pass on his/her innovative ideas can easily talk to his director/CEO without afraid of anything, if his concerning person won't have any ego.
This would have made an organization into a strong family and converted the traditional hierarchy model into a multi tower model with each employee at the common level. So each employee will now thinks of improving the company or in increasing the number of clients rather than working into his/her limitation i.e to being just loyal to his boss and not to the company.
This would have also made the life of the lover easier, as it would have been faster for them to convince their parents. Ego prevent their parents to take decision against the circumstances and sometime may leads to wrong decisions, and at times in trying for marrying in the same caste they compromised with social evils like dowry, torture, etc above their children.
Now, this ego makes us somewhat far from God, i.e. our core human instinct to love everyone selflessly or to spread peace and happiness in each soul.
Also mentioned in Bhagwat Gita, Karma Yoga is described as selfless service i.e. when our ego is surrendered before God, It is related to man, animal and plant as well. Karma also means to choose the right path to do right things. Personal religion is followed and the destiny is accepted as everything in life. 
The over loading in attitude is called an ego, so now what may be the way to control it. Its true that, If we show attitude, the people will come to us, if we don’t show it nobody comes to us since they feel us granted or boring, let it be, because our task is to surrender our ego, and pray to God to enlighten our spirit.
So, ego is something which comes naturally as one proceeds in life, we can’t control it but we can easily come out of it.
I will give you an example, for instance there is a person A, who have lots of ego, and there is a person B who have less or no ego at all. The difference between person’s behaviors can be analyzed or proved by bringing them to the same environment.
Both of them are traveling in train and are sitting nearby. We are in a railway station and train start leaving after whistle, Suddenly, a women started crying since she was not able to get into the train leaving her 4 year old son alone.
If we do the analysis of initiation for help, you will find the person B will rescue women to the train after pulling the chain very instantly.
The person A may be knowing the whole matter but it will be difficult for him to initiate because he has a bacteria in him called ego which make him feel guilt for quite sometime.
When there is a will, there is always a way. The person A can also have same amount of happiness and sense of achievement as B, if he/she follows spirituality by being simple and thus start being selfless in whatever he/she does or think. Then he/she will definitely come out of his/her intutional ego , thus can also make thing happen like everyone else.
May be after reading this instance some of you will be laughing at so simple instance , But it may be possible, that the women might be their loved one in future since in this world if we help other then only people will come to help us directly or indirectly.
So in the near future if something bads happen to us then we will be accountable for our deeds, so lets be human first and thus don't feel regret of our action because of ego..
